Gabrielle Dee Giffords served the people in Arizona’s 8th Congressional District from 2007 to January, 2012. She is the third woman, and the first Jew, in Arizona’s history to be elected to Congress. Giffords is currently focusing on her recovery from injuries she sustained in a shooting while meeting with constituents on January 8th, 2011.
