Great New Resource For Jewish American Heritage Month!

JWA 'Jewish American Heritage Month' website badge

May is Jewish American Heritage Month, a time to celebrate the achievements of American Jews and their varied contributions to the cultural and political landscape of the United States.

For this third annual celebration, the Jewish Women's Archive is partnering with the Jewish Telegraphic Agency (JTA) to launch This Day of Jewish American Heritage, a daily online feature that connects every day in May to significant moments in American Jewish history. The month of May encompasses a broad range of achievements of American Jewish women including: 19th century stage performer Adah Isaacs Menken, Beverly Sills, Ayn Rand, Susan Sontag, labor activist Bessie Abramowitz Hillman, pioneering political advisor Belle Moskowitz, and comedian Gilda Radner. What better daily reminder to celebrate the vitality and scope of Jewish American heritage?

The Jewish Women's Archive and JTA will be featuring This Day of Jewish American Heritage on our websites. We are also pleased to offer its content to you as a badge (shown on the left) that features each day's historical event. This badge can be placed on your personal or organizational website/blog and will link back to the Jewish Women's Archive's website for a full description of each date's event. You may also host the content in its entirety on your website, blog, or in your print publication, as long as you credit the Jewish Women's Archive as the source of the material.

Facebook users will not only be able to display the day's historical headline, but will be offered additional tools to explore a whole year of Jewish American Heritage! To find out more, please contact Ari Davidow: 617-383-6766.
