Sadie Rose Weilerstein, who wrote delightful Jewish children's stories for over 50 years, introduced the tiny character of K'tonton in the first issue of the Women's League for Conservative Judaism's Outlook, in September 1930. K'tonton was "born" after his mother prayed to have a child, even "if he were no bigger than a thumb." Before a year had passed, she gave birth to a son. And "he was exactly the size of a thumb."
