Morgenthau-Elinor - still image
Elinor Morgenthau worked closely with Eleanor Roosevelt and tirelessly supported her husband Henry's career, helping him to gain the post of secretary of the treasury under Franklin Roosevelt. Focusing on assimilation through most of her life, she began to reassociate herself with Judaism after the Holocaust. She is shown here in 1916.
