Ida Maze, who "loved all Yiddish poetry perhaps even more than her own," not only wrote lyrical poems in Yiddish, but "was indeed the den mother for a generation of Yiddish writers in Montreal,” whom she hosted at her "salon" for Canadian Yiddish culture.
