Dear Mr. Seligman-

A meeting of the Society for East European Jews will take place at Mr. Rice's house, 106 East 62nd Street on Wednesday evening, October 17th at 8 o'clk. May I beg that you be present without fail? I am anxious to have a full session as I shall present the Report of my inquiries abroad & their result upon my own views- & I think we shall then take action in regard to our future Course. I am anxious that we should get to something practical with as little delay as possible.—I regret to say that I was prevented from seeing your relatives while I was in London—notwithstanding the kindness of your uncle who in response to your note invited me most cordially to Clapham—But a previous engagement obliged me to decline his hospitality
