At her request, her gravestone reads only “Nehama Leibowitz: Teacher.” Indeed, Leibowitz was the teacher of Bible to thousands of men and women, religious and secular, in Israel and around the world. Her Biblical commentary combines literary analysis, moral messages and faithfulness to the text.
