LEHI-2_small - still image

The underground movement Lohamei Herut Yisrael (Lehi) was established in 1940 by Jewish fighters opposed to the decision by Irgun Zeva'i Le'ummi to cease battling against British rule in Palestine. Although this organization kept no records of its membership, it is estimated that about twenty percent were women. Pictured here is Lehi member Neli Langsfelder.

Institution: Lehi Anashim. Yair Publishing: Tel Aviv, 2002
