In the early 1920s, Bertha Landsman, then the only registered nurse in Palestine, established the Yishuv's first system of community nursing, including its first course for nursing students in the field of public health, the "Donkey Express" milk delivery system, and the still extant national network of baby welfare clinics. She appears here (ca. 1943–1959) in Jerusalem withDr. Kalman Mann, director of the Hadassah Medical Organization from 1951 until 1981.
