Heyn-Clara_small - still image


After her family moved from Vienna to Israel in 1938, Clara Heyn was inspired by a lecture by the philosopher Yeshayahu Leibowitz to study biology, specializing in botany. She became a popular professor, author of a classic work in her field, and director of the Hebrew University’s Herbarium.
