There are gender issues but there is also war and peace and it's also race and economics. So I think the international women's movement is integrating all of those issues.
I remember going to Nairobi in 1985 and it was just phenomenal. I kept thinking, my God, there are 15,000 women and Beijing had 40,000 and we started out in Cambridge with nothing. And in such a short period of time you've kind of changed the face of the planet around gender. It's just so remarkable to have been apart of it. We have many fights now one of which is battling silence and complacency but the consciousness is still there that this is a key battle to be fought.
