I think choosing to bring some kids from the DP camps... that changed their lives. I only chose them by their qualifications. It was a terrible burden. But, they talk about it, the few that I know. It changed their lives. t gave them entrée to here, to freedom, out of those crummy DP camps.
And I think some of my students, learned. Pam [Cohen] would have been Pam without studying with me. She just has a fire burning in her and a great passion for her people. But she reminds me of things we talked about in class.
