I spent two weeks this summer [2002] - an amazing two weeks, in a city 3 hours south of Budapest, Hungary called Szarvas. There's a camp there that is a joint program between the JDC and the Ron Lauder Foundation and both of those organizations do outreach and have special efforts to enrich and increase [and] motivate the growing Jewish communities in countries like Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Turkey...We worked hard to kind of show the way and provide at least a little bit of a foundation, to lead these kids towards Jewish traditionalism.
