I get a lot of emails from women thanking me for inspiring or re-inspiring them... I get a number of emails that say, 'I used to be gutsy but then this or that happened and I sort of put it on hold, but after reading this book, I see I have to find my ovaries again' or something like that. And so the book is about celebrating women risk-takers in hopes of encouraging women to be risk-takers, and so I think that is happening. And on a very concrete level, they're taking the risk of either standing up to speak at an open mike -- and public speaking terrifies everybody, including me -- and on a very concrete level, they're taking the risk of organizing an open mike. So by reading my book, not only are they intellectually or emotionally getting this message to be a risk-taker but by speaking at or organizing an open mike they have the opportunity to put their risk-taking into practice. And so that's what I feel my biggest contribution is.
