[Dorothy] absolutely believed in the capacity of women to grow. She led a weekly study group and we use to read books like Howard Sachar's, Course of  Modern Jewish History and discuss them. She was gifted, committed, honest, and had a wry sense of humor. She was a great motivator and encouraged us to think for ourselves and be committed and active.
