"My mother was just an angel. If we're any good, it's thanks to her. My mother was a good person; she would do good things for other people. I remember she had a row of pushkes in the kitchen and when we really didn't have much money, there was always a couple of pennies in those pushkes. That impressed us. We do the same thing. I find it very hard to say no to anyone, especially a charity that deals with children. Her role was to keep that kitchen going. She always had enough food for everybody. No matter who walked into that house, there was always enough food."
