My mother was really a Rebbetzin in the true sense of the word, she was there as a partner. My father, of course, was the one that started Ner Israel [a rabbinical school in Baltimore], but she was the one that created the Ladies Auxillary and took upon herself the responsibility of seeing that the boys would have linens and food and the things necessary.
