In Russia, because of the situation of anti-Semitism, a lot of Jewish people tried to hide from their children their identity, which wasn't the case in our family. My parents, especially my father, always taught me to be proud to be Jewish and stand up for it... I always felt that they were very proud of being Jews and raised me to keep my head high. And I think that this was a beautiful gift that I received from them.
