What Else She Said

"Jewish values that are my priorities are the social mitzvot that have to do with other people more than those that have to do with my private rituals. It is the mitzvot that have to do with how I treat other people, how I relate to other people. How what I do in life affects other people. There is absolutely no question about this. The social mitzvot are the ones I choose to practice as best I can-how I treat other people, what I do with my life. Do I make a difference?"

"For me, going to temple or church regularly does not, by itself, fulfill 'doing God's work.' When I am out on the street raking and cleaning-up, I am doing God's work too.
