Kathleen Thompson

Kathleen Thompson is coauthor with Andra Medea of the feminist classic Against Rape. With Diane Epstein, she is coauthor of Feeding on Dreams. Thompson was a major contributor to Black Women in America and was editor in chief of Encyclopedia of Black Women. She has worked for twenty years in education and publishing and is the author of more than one hundred books for juveniles, including Portrait of America, a fifty-three volume set of books that accompanied Turner Broadcasting’s television series of the same name. She received Best Books for Youth award from the American Library Association in 1974 and the Gold Camera award from the United States Industrial Film Festival.
