Avis Dimond Miller

Avis Dimond Miller serves as Rabbi at Adas Israel Congregation in Washington, D.C. A graduate of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College (1986), Miller was the first woman in the United States to assume pulpit responsibilities in a major Conservative congregation, and holds the longest pulpit tenure of any woman in the movement. The first woman appointed to chair a national committee of the Rabbinical Assembly (Outreach and Conversion), she has also been President of the Washington-Baltimore Region of the RA.

Florence Perlman

Florence Bierman Perlman was one of the women responsible for shaping Hadassah into its role of national prominence. A national board member of Hadassah from 1938 until her death in 1975, Perlman also held many other important positions within the organization.
