Marsha Hurst

Marsha Hurst is Director of the Health Advocacy Program at Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York, where she also teaches the history of healthcare in America and women’s health. A graduate of Brown University (A.B.) and Columbia University (Ph.D. in political science), Hurst received a post-doctoral fellowship from Mount Sinai Medical School in New York. She has published numerous articles on women’s health and regularly lectures on topics of women’s health advocacy. She is currently co-editing an anthology of women’s illness narratives with Sayantani DasGupta and researching the role of narrative in advocacy.
