Carola Hilfrich is a lecturer in the Department of General and Comparative Literature and the Program for Cultural Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She has written a book on the beginnings of Jewish German modernity, Lebendige Schrift. Repräsentation und Idolatrie in Moses Mendelssohns Philosophie und Exegese des Judentums (2000), and co-edited, with Stephane Moses, a book on cross-cultural dialogue (1997). She has published extensively on questions of genre and identity in the writings of Hélène Cixous.
