Elisheva Carlebach is a professor of history at Queens College and the Graduate Center, CUNY. She received the first Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching at Queens College. She is the author of The Pursuit of Heresy: Rabbi Moses Hagiz and the Sabbatian Controversies and Divided Souls: Jewish Converts to Christianity in German Lands, 1500–1750. She is co-editor of Jewish History and of Jewish Memory and has written numerous articles.
