Deborah B. Thompson was raised on a ranch in Santa Barbara, California, surrounded by a family who nourished her creativity and interest in the arts. After her apprenticeship to her great grandmother Gloria Stuart, which inspired her published book of memoirs, Butterfly Summers, Deborah earned a Bachelor of Arts from Brandeis University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude with Highest Honors in Art History. She is currently in a Master’s program for Jewish Art and Visual Culture in New York City, pursuing a career in the museum world while simultaneously writing and making art of her own.
