The collection has been arranged into four series reflecting the four generations of women represented in this collection. The collection was donated by Deda Schlossberg Miller, and the explanatory notes found throughout the collection were provided by Deda Schlossberg Miller. The Alice Jacobi Schlossberg papers contain primarily personal correspondence, journals, a Bible, a baby scrapbook, and photographs. Alices Baby Book, 1912- ca. 1929, was carefully maintained by her mother and contains notes written to Alice through her eighteenth year. The Collection also contains the Bible given by Freda to Alice on her ninth birthday, which is mentioned in Alice's baby book. Of particular interest is the personal journal kept by Alice while she was a student at Simmons College, in Boston, Massachusetts, between 1930 and 1931. Also of interest are the love letters that Alice and Arnold Schlossberg wrote to each other in 1932, the year they secretly eloped, and a photo album that documents the early years of their marriage.
