Spotlight on historically significant Jewish women such as:

Eighteen trailblazing Jewish women, mostly from the past two centuries, are featured and bring to life stories from Jewish women's history. Women of Valor recognizes and highlights the lives and accomplishments of these remarkable Jewish women, each of whom had the courage and conviction to overcome social, cultural, and religious barriers to achieve their goals. Each has left a meaningful contribution that has improved our world.

An innovative educational outreach program, Women of Valor brings women's history and female role models into the mainstream of Jewish and American life and education. Biographical information and historical context for each woman's life and times become accessible through posters, teaching resources, and web exhibits. These provide a rich array of photographs, documents, artifacts, timelines, quotations, and life narratives. Resource guides offer a wide variety of programming ideas suitable for learners from pre-school to adulthood in both formal and informal settings.

Used in Jewish day schools, synagogues, community centers, national Jewish organizations, public libraries, and women's studies programs-as well as by individuals-JWA's Women of Valor program serves as an inspiration to Jewish educators, scholars, and community leaders across North America and abroad. With multiple components, it aims to help learners of all ages become as familiar with these historical women role models as with their male counterparts.
